Via Zolfo, 1
Maiori 84010 - Salerno
The exact address is Via Zolfo 1 but you cannot find it on google maps. Better looking for Via Accola which is the street where the steps start.
VIA VALICO DI CHIUNZI: A1 Rome -Napoli motorway, exit Naples. Then take A3 Napoli-Salerno-Reggio Calabria, exit “Angri SUD” following the signs "Costiera Amalfitana".
This way does not follow the Coast but you will cross the “Pass of Chiunzi” and it should allow you to avoid a bit of traffic and get directly to the area in Maiori where our Casale is located.
There is a very amazing photo point when you reach the top of the Pass and you will see the famous Vulcano Vesuvio (whose eruption in AD 79 buried the cities of Pompei and Herculaneum).
With this solution you will reach Maiori after crossing the village of Tramonti .
VIA VIETRI SUL MARE: A1 Rome -Napoli motorway, take A3 headed toward Salerno-Reggio Calabria, exit “Vietri sul Mare (famous for its hand-painted ceramics). Leave Vietri sul Mare and proceed west along the coastal road (SS 163). You will reach Maiori in about 18 min (15.8km).
FROM ROME/NAPLES: take a Trenitalia regionale train to Salerno and then the SITA bus to Maiori.
You can take the frequent ALIBUS from NAP to Piazza Garibaldi in central Naples, then a Trenitalia regionale train to Salerno and then the SITA bus to Maiori.
BY AUTOBUS SITA
The principal forms of public transport serving the Amalfi Coast are Sita coaches from Naples, Sorrento, and Salerno.
See the timetable for SITA SUD line, at the site: www.sitasudtrasporti.it
(if the sea conditions are ok this is the best solution to enjoy the coast line)
